What to do in London

If you’re staying in London for the Symposium, there are plenty of things to keep you occupied when you’re not attending sessions. In fact, there’s so much to do that it can be a bit overwhelming, so we’ve put together this short guide to help you make the most of your time in the capital.


Victoria has fantastic transport links, with Victoria Underground Station and countless bus stops offering quick and easy travel around the capital. For more on travel, see our Travel and Hotels guide.


Victoria is packed with places to eat. Whether you’re after a fancy meal or a quick snack, you can find every type of food you can imagine nearby.


London is famous for its nightlife, and Victoria is no exception: with countless bars and pubs nearby.


The Apollo Victoria Theatre, home of the award-winning musical Wicked, is two minutes down the road from the Symposium, and London’s West End is around twenty minutes away by tube.

See the sights

If you fancy a bit of sightseeing, Buckingham Palace is less than 15 minutes walk away from Victoria, as are Green Park and St James’s Park. Victoria’s excellent transport links can get you around the capital in no time, so you can easily zip around and see London’s sights – both historic and modern.

London also has some of the best museums in the world, some of which occasionally have after-hours events and showings in the evenings.
